During Leiden International Film Festival, limited editions fulfil interesting one-time experiences for the audience. In collaboration with poet and writer Charlotte de Beus, the screening of The Chronicles of a Wandering Saint, winner of the Youth Jury Award, transformed into a cinematic experience inspired by transcendent and moving themes of the movie. For Charlotte and Amber, the project became an exploration of what it means to become both an artist, and individual, and a saint — a reflection on the process of creation, self-discovery, and belief, shaped by one’s life and environment.
The film’s spiritual symbol, the white chrysanthemum, served as the starting point. It inspired the development of poems, visuals, and their synthesis into an installation and liturgy. The result was an altar, providing a space for introspection, where visitors could confront themselves as creators, makers, and individuals.
